Who We Are: Alexander Ollongren

Professor Alexander Ollongren, 74, is emeritus professor of theoretical computer science and guest professor of astronomy at the prestigious Leiden University in The Netherlands, where he teaches a course on communication with ETI. Many years ago he became interested in Hans Freudenthal's Language for Cosmic Intercourse (usually called Lincos) for communicating with ETI. Now he is reformulating Lincos in terms of constructive logic and is working on interpretation of the new system. He presents his work at SETI workshops on the art and science of interstellar message constructions. Alexander Ollongren
