Who We Are
An Invitation From ...

This invitation to ETI comes from an informal group of 100 people. We live in various parts of the world. We range in age from our twenties to our eighties. All of us are eager for humankind to make contact with extraterrestrial intelligence. Many of us are quite active in the SETI or interstellar field, or in the annual CONTACT conference.

Because our quest for Contact is a highly interdisciplinary pursuit, Signatories represent a wide cross-section of professional skills and talents. A breakdown of their various occupations appears here.

Signatories have a wide range of views on many questions, of course, and the views of any one individual should not be considered representative of the entire group.

In issuing this invitation to you, we are acting simply as individual human beings, not as representatives or spokespersons from any organization, employer, or country.

As individuals, however, many of us have formal and informal links to highly relevant organizations. For instance, 14 of us are members of the SETI Permanent Study Group of the International Academy of Astronautics, which is the key international committee in the field. And we count among our Signatories key leaders from 12 other organizations that seek or study contact with intelligent life in the universe. These links to a variety of organizations could be very valuable at some stage of our interaction with you.
